Detox Bath for Cold Winter Time and a Good Life!
Essential oils can be a powerful tool to help the body detoxify, especially when used alongside of real food.
Our bodies are naturally designed to detox via the liver, lungs, skin, lymph nodes, and kidneys. However, because we live in a world where we are surrounded by synthetic chemicals in our food, water, and environment, we sometimes need to give our bodies some extra help to keep things working properly.
Did you know that detox can only happen when the body is relaxed?!
Yes…when stress comes into the picture, the body will put detox on the back burner in order for it to deal with whatever stress you might be encountering.
So, let me give you one way to help the stress and allow your body to detox at the same time…a detox bath!
This is actually my favorite recipe that helps me to relax, as well as, to support my body’s natural detoxification process.
My Favorite Detox Bath Blend:
- 1 cup Epsom Salts
- 3 drops Juniper Berry
- 3 drops Rosemary
To prepare the bath, simply fill the bathtub with warm water, add the essential oils to the salts, add the mixture and swish your hand around the bottom of the tub to help the salts and essential oils dissolve. Soak for 20 minutes or more.
How is this beneficial?
- Epsom salts contain magnesium. The body quickly uses up magnesium stores when it is stressed, and this can cause an array of health problems. So, as you soak, the skin absorbs the magnesium into the body. How easy is that?!
- Juniper Berry Essential oils boosts the immune system, is high in antioxidants, increases circulation, supports the kidneys, reduces stress, and speeds up urination and elimination.
- Rosemary Essential Oil is very high in antioxidants, and it supports the liver, which is one of the body’s main detox organs. It also supports healthy gallbladder function…the liver sends the toxins via bile through the gallbladder, so having healthy gallbladder function is very important for detoxification.
