Spring has long been equated with a fresh starts, a chance to try a new hobby, plant your garden and get your spring cleaning done. But did you know that giving your space s deep clean can do so much more than provide you with a tidy home?

The goals are:

  1. Mental health. A link between procrastination, a cluttered living space and feeling overwhelmed creates an impact on the quality of your life. Cleaning can help change those emotions. Cleaning helps de-stress, bring peace and a sense of accomplishment.
  2. Physical health. A spring clean can also have benefits on your physical health, including healthy immune system and clean lungs.

 Natural Fresh Tips

Here are a few cleaning ways to get you started.

Fresh Lemon

Lemon can be used as a sink scrubber, an all purpose cleaner or a dishwasher aid.

  1. To make your sink shine, sprinkle baking soda on a ½ lemon and scrub away.
  2. To make an all purpose cleaner, mix together a cup of white vinegar with chopped up lemon.
  3. To make your dishes shine, try putting a used lemon in your dishwasher.

Fresh potatoes

Ever thought of using a potato as a cleaning agent? Simply cut your potato in ½ and rub it on your mirror, then spray them with water and wipe dry with a towel. Your mirror will be clean immediately and your liver will thank you by avoiding harsh chemical found in commercial cleaning products.

Lavender spray

To help keep your pillows and blankets smelling fresh between washes, try this simple lavender spray! Just mix lavender essential oil and water in a spray bottle, et voila. Spray onto pillow at bedtime and slip into sweet lavender-scented dreams. As a bonus, the lavender can help you get a better night’s sleep.
